Description
This hand carved train made out of ebony and ivory is currently on display at the Warther Museum, in Dover, Ohio. It was made by master carver Ernest Warther in the early 20th century. It's approximately 3 feet long and about 8 inches wide. The wheels spin around too. It's a replica of the New York North Central Lines, Hudson Type Locomotive, designed in 1927 to Haul Ltd. Trains, built by the American Locomotive Co.
The train is included in a very large, magnificent collection of trains and other items hand carved by Warther. It's quite an exhibit so if you're driving by the town of Dover, Ohio, try to see it.
