Description
Former 17th century convent turned into a first class hotel, Old San Juan, Puerto Rico. Built in the neo-classical style, it was originally a convent for Carmelite nuns that travelled to Puerto Rico to assist the development of a Catholic Society in the city of San Juan. Across the street from the convent is the Cathedral of San Juan which still acts as the principal center of the Catholic church in Puerto Rico. The Hotel Convento has been converted into a luxurious hotel where visitors from all over the world stay when they want to savor the true cultural life of the old city.
+++
The original cobblestone streets of Cristo Street lead up to the front of the hotel where the visitor is warmly greeted with one of the hotel staff. Inside is a black and white marble floor dating back from the 19th century which has been maintained in beautiful condition. Works of Spanish and Puerto Rican artists adorn the walls creating a majestic ambiance. An indoor courtyard has beautiful trees and flowering plants with rod iron tables and chairs where one can drink a Pina Colada or a beer and relax.

No wonder so many vacationers want to stay here! On the rooftop there is a swimming pool and garden. Many a wedding reception has been celebrated here!
