The Flamboyant is Puerto Rico's national tree. During the months of May through August it blooms its spectacular blossoms. The rest of the year it remains dormant and quite uninteresting. Poets and composers have written sonnets, songs and musical scores about its beauty. Along country roads in Puerto Rico it can be seen and admired by all.
